Athula
Disanayaka was born in Ampara . He studied in Ampara
Damana Maha Vidyalaya , Prince of Wales College –
Moratuwa and Ampara Gamini Maha Vidyalaya . Soon after
the schooling he enrolled as provincial Journalist
and photographer for many news papers (
Dawasa, Lake House and Divaina). Later he entered
to the Colombo University and graduated art degree
with following Journalism as a subject.
While
he was studying he was able to get basic training
in News Papers, SLTTI – Sri Lanka Television Training
Institute, Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and
an Advertising company, gaining much knowledge about
the media and Television practically and theoretically.
In
artistic creation he has numerous ways of expressions.
He conducted 2 photographic exhibition – Praba Sithuwam
( 1991), Era mala yata –Beneath the Sun ( 1994).
Athhula
Joined national Television – Rupavahini at 1996 as
Assistant Producer and since then he produced and
directed hundreds of
TV programmes such as Documentaries, Live shows,
current affairs programme, Magazine programs and etc.
He has been specialized and preferably creates themes
and trailers for the programme attractively.
Most
significants of his Television career is winning of
two TV awards for his TV Magazine programme – Watarawuma,
Sumathi Award 2006 for best Current affairs programme
and Media
Award for best Magazine programme 2007.
Now
he is producing and directing “ Udarata Menike”
a travel documentary series with collaboration with
his staff colleague Mayuri Wanguru, creating a land
mark of TV programme production of Sri Lankan TV history.

Mayuri
wanaguru is the one of skillful TV producer of Sri
Lanka Rupavahini. She was born in Colombo. She studied
in Nugegoda Anula Vidyalaya and entered university
of Colombo for higher study.
In
school time he played a key role in school sports
activities and literally works.
She
was graduated in Colombo University gaining Art Degree
(Sinahala Special) and followed Journalism as alternative
subject.
She
also had opportunity to train in SLTTI – Sri Lanka
Television Training Institute, News Papers, Sri Lanka
Broadcasting Corporation and Advertising Agency. She
obtained much knowledge regarding Journalism and Television
practically and theoretically before she enrolled
in to the National Television as Assistant TV Prouder.
She
joined National Television in 1996 with aim of doing
media preferably. She had produced much news items,
Current Affairs Programme, Live shows, Documentaries,
etc.
Extraordinary
and simultaneously making idea for train journey programme
she collaborated with her university badge mate, now
TV Producer of Rupavahini , Athula, to produce remarkable
TV Programe “Udarta Menike” |
